I’ll be honest, I was really struggling with a topic to write about today. So in the midst of my brainstorming, I opened up my Facebook app on my iPhone and browsed through the newsfeed. It made me realize just how ingrained Facebook is in our lives these days. It’s turned into such a big deal, causing divorces and ending friendships or relationships. But that is a whole other blog post entirely!
My favorite aspect of Facebook is the mobile uploads section. I feel like it really gives you a good insight into the person..you can learn a lot about the person based on what they decided to take a picture of and deemed it worthy to share with the rest of Facebook. If you all saw my mobile uploads album, you’d think “Wow, that girl really loves her desserts!”
All jokes aside, here are some of my mobile uploads I thought I’d share with you. Maybe it’ll give you a better idea as to who I am! (If this blog hasn’t told you already. :))

Beautiful scenery: Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco
My travels: Maui, Hawaii
Having traveled from the Bay Area to LA numerous times, I like to consider myself a pro at it. I can pack in a mere few hours, we have set rest stops that we hit along the way, and the six hour drive breezes by.
Here are my road trip tips:
- Wear comfy clothes. In the summer I stick to capris or shorts because Central California is HOT.
- Bring a pillow and a blanket to help you catch some zzz’s (when you’re not driving of course).
- Pack your iPod and headphones for solo music time and burn CDs for when you are driving (The rule is that the driver gets to hear their preference of music.)
- Reward yourself with some good road trip food.
- Books and magazines help pass the time.
- Once you arrive to your destination, treat yourself to some frozen yogurt. You deserve it!
What are your road trip musts? I’d love to hear them!
This summer has been filled with thousands of engagements and weddings. But this long weekend, there was nothing of the sort. We took advantage of this free time and the amazing weather and headed to Sausalito.
I’ve been lucky enough to live in the Bay Area for most of my life, but I haven’t explored too many areas of it. One of those being the other side of San Francisco. As soon as we crossed the Golden Gate Bridge, I was in love. Sausalito is a cute town on the water, with a main street that is filled with restaurants and shops. There were street performers as well, which I enjoy.
First we had dinner at Avatar’s. It’s a good place that serves a fusion of Indian, Mexican, and Italian. Then we walked on the main strip, enjoying the weather and the scenery around us. We spotted a Lapperts, an ice cream place where I picked up a mint chocolate chip in a cone to enjoy by the water.
The next day we hung out in the other side of the Bay, Palo Alto. I had a coupon for the California Pizza Kitchen, where I happily ate my tostada pizza (sans the chicken). The night was so nice and we were stuffed from our meal, so we walked on University Ave while I ate my favorite frozen yogurt, Yogurtland. University Ave was so pretty- the trees were all light up (as pictured below).
What are some of the places near you that you enjoy making a day trip to?
Well, this past month has certainly been a whirlwind! As I mentioned in my last post, we had family coming over for the holidays. What I didn’t mention was that my brother was planning to propose to his girlfriend as well!
He had planned for both of them to see each of their families immediately following the proposal. So needless to say, it was a very memorable Christmas for my family and I.
Once our guests left, we went out of town to visit my soon to be sister-in-law and her family for New Years Eve. Following that trip, we went for a family vacation to Hawaii. It was relaxing and it felt so nice to be in tropical weather.
This picture pretty much sums up my vacation.
So now that I am all caught up on the last month, here is what is going on currently.
I absolutely LOVE having a reason to scour wedding blogs and websites. It’s not that I am one of those girls that has their wedding day planned down to the last detail, I just enjoy looking and reading about them; they give you such great ideas. Also, I love planning events, as is evidenced here.
I have already thrown a few ideas out to the couple/my family, which have been very well received. I can’t wait to show you all the final product!
What are some of your favorite wedding websites?
Getting in Shape
There are quite a few weddings coming up this year (not including my own brother’s), so a few family friends have decided to get in shape through P90X. Last night, my brother wanted me to try Ab Ripper X and this morning I did the plyo video. It is intense! I am so sore, it hurts to even sneeze. Here’s hoping I am sari-ready in a few months. 🙂
Hope you all are having a fantastic start to 2011! 🙂
