Week in Review

The weather has been absolutely b-e-a-utiful this week; we’re talking 70 degrees and not a cloud in sight. Even though it has been a mild winter, I had forgotten what the sun felt like and let me say it feels so, so good. I just hope that this isn’t a tease and that spring is here to stay. Fingers crossed, right?

Other than the weather, here’s a look at some of things that have made my week.

JK Rowling announces her next novel, for adults – I have ridiculously high expectations for this novel, but can you blame me? The Harry Potter series is certainly tough to live up to, but I’m sure whatever the subject matter is it will be a great book. Even though it lacks a title, I’ve already added it to my GoodReads to-read list. (Excited, much?)

How Pinterest Helped Clean a House – and Save a Marriage – I love reading feel good, human interest stories and this one is no exception- except for the fact that Pinterest plays a major part in it. Just a nice reminder that social media sites can often be so much more than just a way to spend your time.

Pastel Yellow Dress– Hi, my name’s Ami and I’m addicted to pastels. Seriously, my closet is full of them. I’ve been doing a good job of weaning myself off of them after nearly having an intervention while shopping for my brother’s wedding. (I think I did good, don’t you?) But there’s something about light, sweet colors that gets me. Every. Single. Time.

Philosophy’s Vanilla Birthday Cake Lip Shine – Lip gloss + vanilla cake scent = amazing. If I can resist the urge to lick it off because it smells so divine, it leaves my lips moisturized and offers a neutral shine to boot.

Be Fierce

This weekend went by way too fast. I went bowling with friends (my score was abysmal). Most of Sunday was spent catching up on sleep and hoping I don’t get sick. This week is San Francisco Social Media Week and I am looking forward to attending a few events. What do you have planned?

A Whole New Week

This weekend was equal parts eventful and relaxing. I went out and met new people, watched The Help and Ides of March (loved them both), took multiple naps, and painted my nails Essie’s Cocktail Bling (one of my new favorite colors). I was not ready for the weekend to end, but I am looking forward to a productive week ahead!

Just like I posted last week, I wanted to share some inspiring words that I’ve come across recently. Here’s hoping they help or inspire you in some way.

Have a great week ahead!

Start Your Week Off Right

This weekend was a nice and quiet. I was coerced into watching the Niners vs Giants game yesterday (the first football game I’ve seen in years) and it was a close one. I’m not a football fan, but I had to root for my city, San Francisco.

It’s too bad the Niners won’t be in the Super Bowl. I was looking forward to baking a red velvet cake for our annual Super Bowl party. Now I wonder: will there be any famous spouses or significant others in the audience that I can look forward to seeing?

I like starting off my week by reading or watching something inspirational or happy. For example, I once posted this video about the power of positive thinking.

Here are some inspirational words that have caught my eye on Pinterest.

Hope you all have a great week ahead!

I love pretty things.

Whenever I get stressed or bored, I look at pretty pictures online. It could be of an awesome outfit, a delectable dessert/dish, a wonderfully decorated room or a beach. They all serve as great distractions from whatever issues are occupying my mind and my mood is instantly changed. Well, now enter Pinterest.

Pinterest is site where you can find and share beautiful pictures that you come across on the internet. It could be anything from home

Bliss.

decor, wedding/party planning, food & desserts, to exotic locales. You can then “re-pin” the pictures you see and share them with your friends. It’s a great tool for anyone planning a wedding, re-decorating their house, or looking for inspiration on what to cook for an upcoming dinner party.

Log on to Pinterest and request an invite. (It doesn’t take long- I requested one this afternoon and got an invite just an hour ago.)

You can view my board here. They are still barren as I am just getting started. And if any of you are on it, add me!

Another website I saw today and loved (courtesy of my friend Pari) is Bookshelf Porn. For anyone who is a bookworm and loves pretty pictures like myself, this site is like heaven. It showcases all the best bookshelves from all over the world. I am in lust. I cannot wait to have an awesome bookshelf in my future house (along with a fantastic view of the ocean, of course).
