Less is More

Whether it’s a simple morning beauty routine…

or a leisurely afternoon spent with a good book, a cup of tea, and a pastry..

Less really is so much more, don’t you think?

Happiness Is..

A breath of fresh air after been cooped up inside for far too long.

And when that air happens to be San Francisco and 70 degrees…well, that’s just the icing on the cake.

“Who will tell whether one happy moment of love or the joy of breathing or walking on a bright morning and smelling the fresh air, is not worth all the suffering and effort which life implies.” – Erich Fromm

Courage and a Double Feature

Just a few of the movie tickets I’ve collected over the years.

Our local theater had a 2 for 1 special on Saturday night, showing My Week with Marilyn and The Iron Lady. I absolutely love doing double features and both movies were amazing. I’ve started to read Love Walked In by Marisa de los Santos and I’m already obsessed with her style of writing.

Here are some words (or pictures) of wisdom, regarding courage.

The Power of Smiling

The best weekends are those that are an equal mix of productive yet lazy. I took care of some things I’ve been putting off for a while, such as fixing up this website (check out the updated header and the about page). I also continued reading The Paris Wife, napped, and enjoyed many cups of tea.

Last week was rather busy, so I am looking forward to a more relaxed few days ahead with some continued productivity.

Below is a Ted Talk about the power of smiling. Smiling is certainly underrated – studies have proven that those that smile live longer and the simple task also has a great benefit on one’s overall health. So don’t hold back; show your pearly whites!

Have a fabulous week!

Happy Monday

This was one of those weekends that was defined by food. Whether it was making chocolate banana bread (recipe forthcoming) and salsa to eating to my heart’s content during the Super Bowl (you gotta love leggings). It was amazing – the food, not the game.

My favorite parts were the extended Hunger Games trailer (here) and the commercials of course. Which one was your favorite?

Hope you have a wonderful week!

A Whole New Week

This weekend was equal parts eventful and relaxing. I went out and met new people, watched The Help and Ides of March (loved them both), took multiple naps, and painted my nails Essie’s Cocktail Bling (one of my new favorite colors). I was not ready for the weekend to end, but I am looking forward to a productive week ahead!

Just like I posted last week, I wanted to share some inspiring words that I’ve come across recently. Here’s hoping they help or inspire you in some way.

Have a great week ahead!

Start Your Week Off Right

This weekend was a nice and quiet. I was coerced into watching the Niners vs Giants game yesterday (the first football game I’ve seen in years) and it was a close one. I’m not a football fan, but I had to root for my city, San Francisco.

It’s too bad the Niners won’t be in the Super Bowl. I was looking forward to baking a red velvet cake for our annual Super Bowl party. Now I wonder: will there be any famous spouses or significant others in the audience that I can look forward to seeing?

I like starting off my week by reading or watching something inspirational or happy. For example, I once posted this video about the power of positive thinking.

Here are some inspirational words that have caught my eye on Pinterest.

Hope you all have a great week ahead!
